چکیده

-) carbon. A cavitating water jet method was used to examine weight loss versus time as compared to other engineering materials. An ultrasonic horn method was used to describe cavitation erosion morphology of pyrolytic carbon surfaces. The cavitation behavior of pyrolytic carbon by both methods. was highly variable. Cavitation resistance in the water jet model was initially high, but weight loss accelerated with increased exposure times. A microcracking phenomenon was observed to contribute to the accelerating weight loss. The ultrasonic horn model showed variable cavitation, with some samples substantially cavitated after 9 minutes of exposure and some essentially uncavitated after 12 minutes of exposure. Morphologically, cavitation damage occurred to a greater or lesser extent even over the surface of a single specimen. Mechanical and physical explanations of these results are discussed. )

EFFECT OF END GROUPS AND CHAIN LENGTH ON EXTRACTION OF LITHIUM ION BY A SERIES OF NON-CYCLIC IONOPHORES

A series of non-cyclic polyethers with different end groups and chain length were used for the extraction of lithium salt from aqueous into various organic phases viz. Chloroform, Carbon tetrachloride, 1,2-dichloroethane, to study the influence of structural variations within the extractant molecule upon the extraction selectivity and efficiency. The ionophores used were viz. DEG (I), DEGDME (I...

GENERALIZATIONS OF delta-LIFTING MODULES

In this paper we introduce the notions of G∗L-module and G∗L-module whichare two proper generalizations of δ-lifting modules. We give some characteriza tions and properties of these modules. We show that a G∗L-module decomposesinto a semisimple submodule M1 and a submodule M2 of M such that every non-zero submodule of M2 contains a non-zero δ-cosingular submodule.

Role of Interatomic Potentials in Simulation of Thermal Transport in Carbon Nanotubes

Interatomic potentials, which describe interactions between elements of nanosystems, are crucial in theoretical study of their physical properties. We focus on two well known empirical potentials, i.e. Tersoff's and Brenner's potentials, and compare their performance in calculation of thermal transport in carbon nanotubes. In this way, we study the temperature and diameter dependence of thermal...

Electrochemical Sensor for the Determination of Alizarin Red-S at Non-ionic Surfactant Modified Carbon Nanotube Paste Electrode

The Cyclic Voltammetric (CV) behavior of Alizarin Red-S (ARS), which is an Anthraquinone dye was examined by utilizing TX-100 modified carbon nanotube paste electrode (TX-100MCNTPE). The surfactant utilized is TX-100, and it has been found that it has good electrocatalytic activity towards ARS. Distinctive parameters like pH, scan rate, detection limit have been studied in the potential range o...

Phytoniosome: a Novel Drug Delivery for Myrtle Extract

Traditionally, Myrtus communis (myrtle) has been used for treatment of several kinds of disorders. However, there are some factors, namely, low solubility and permeability, which restrict use of myrtle extract (ME) in medical applications. Regarding these limitations, the aim of the present study was to develop a new niosomal formulation to enhance ME stability and permeability. Briefly, sever...
